Alan Arkin: 'Mini Stroke' Lands Actor In Hospital

Alan Arkin has been hospitalized following a mini-stroke that the 81-year-old suffered earlier this week. However, the Oscar-winning actor is doing "fine" now, according to his publicist. "He had a very mini stroke and he is very fine," said Melody Korenbrot Friday, according to USA Today.

Korenbrot added that Arkin was home and already back to business, reading a scripts for a new movie, Fox reported.

Arkin, who won Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Argo," was admitted to the hospital Monday and was discharged the following day. Doctors conducted a number of tests and concluded that there was no significant damage to his health from the stroke, according to TMZ.

The premiere for Arkin's upcoming film, "Love the Coopers," starring Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Olivia Wilde and Amanda Seyfried, was held in Los Angeles Thursday night, but the actor was not in attendance.

"Love the Coopers," opened in theaters Friday. Watch the trailer below:
