Persistent rumors about Samsung's new Galaxy S7's early launch identify January or early February as the most likely release dates. Now, this theory is getting another boost with a fresh new hint that came from an AT&T testing. The company is reportedly testing two new Samsung devices, and both are purportedly S7 variants, Evan Blass, a reliable source of phone leaks, wrote in a Twitter post.
The new leak confirmed previous rumors, such as the existence of several S7 variants that are differentiated by the processor used. The number of variants to be launched can also be based on form factor. For instance, the two S7s will be named SM-G930 and the SM-G935, and the first has a flat display while the latter sports the curved edges, according to SAMMobile. Blass identified the devices being tested by AT&T as SM-G930A and -G935A.
Speculations about the earlier than expected release date for the Galaxy S7 is based on the change in Samsung's timetable beginning with the Galaxy Note 5's launch in August, which is a month earlier than what is customary for the Note line, as HNGN previously reported.
Other interesting details that could delight Galaxy fans include the rumored cheaper price tag, an all-metal construction and a 20 MP camera. For more details, click here.
