Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck: The Home Recordings (Universal)
Kurt Cobain makes his solo album debut more than 20 years after his death with the companion album to "Cobain: Montage Of Heck," the recently released documentary. If you're expecting a lost Nirvana album, you'll be disappointed, as "The Home Recordings" is just that: a collection of raw and rough sonic sketches.
Check out Cobain's demo of what would become the Nirvana tune "Been A Son" below:
Jeff Lynne's ELO: Alone In The Universe (Columbia)
With Electric Light Orchestra, Jeff Lynne churned out slick, orchestrated music, including hits like "Evil Woman," "Do Ya" and "Don't Bring Me Down." Rebranded as Jeff Lynne's ELO, the retooled group is back with "Alone In The Universe," its first album of all new material since 2001's "Zoom."
Have a listen to the new song "One Step At A Time," which boasts the classic ELO sound that has become Lynne's trademark.
Roger Waters: The Wall (Legacy)
"The Wall" has proven to be an album for all seasons for Roger Waters. Following the release of the high-concept Pink Floyd album in 1979, it went on to be reimagined as a partially animated film in 1982. A post-Floyd Waters then trotted it out in 1990 for an all-star live performance in celebration of the fall of the Berlin Wall. He reimagined "The Wall" yet again for a massive, critically acclaimed tour that spanned from 2010 to 2013, and now he's released a concert film and soundtrack based on the tour.
