Adele’s ‘25’ Will Not Be Available To Stream On Services Like Spotify Tomorrow

Adele's first album in four years, "25," is set to be released tomorrow, but fans who planned to stream it on services like Spotify are out of luck. The British singer is said to have rejected the steaming site's offer, reported the New York Times.

Adele herself was reportedly central in the decision to keep her third studio album off of services like Spotify and Apple Music. Her decision follows that of Taylor Swift, who removed her entire catalog off of Spotify last year because she felt the company did not pay musicians enough for the music. Unlike Swift, however, Adele's first two album's, "19" and "21," are still currently on Spotify, as well as the first single from "25," "Hello."

"We love and respect Adele, as do her 24 million fans on Spotify," a spokesperson for Spotify told Entertainment Weekly. "We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy '25' on Spotify alongside '19' and '21' very soon."

"Hello" broke a number of records when it was released last month. The song was the first single to ever sell more than a million U.S. downloads in a week though paid services like iTunes and was also the most streamed song on Spotify. The music video for the song has been watched more than 400 million times.

Earlier this week, Adele performed at Radio City Music Hall. The show was taped for "Adele Live in New York City," which will air Dec. 14 on NBC. She will also be the musical guest on this Saturday's episode of "Saturday Night Live," along with host Matthew McConaughey, as HNGN previously reported.
