"The Voice" judge Cee Lo Green was officially cleared of the sexual assault charges by the L.A. County's District Attorney's office.
Multiple reports state the "Forget You" singer has always proclaimed his innocence, claiming he did not assault the woman who accused him. According to TMZ, the woman claimed the assault occurred when she and Cee Lo went out on a dinner date together.
The woman told authorities she and Cee Lo dined together at a sushi restaurant, where he allegedly "slipped" ecstasy in her drink, and woke up naked his in bed, unable to recollect what occurred.
"Law enforcement sources tell us, authorities had problems with the woman's story, one of which was that she and Cee Lo had been dating for months and had already been intimate," TMZ reports.
The sexual assault charges were dropped against Cee Lo, but he is now facing afelony charge of furnishing ecstasy.
"The woman claimed to have a tape recording of Cee Lo talking about the incident. Although our sources say Cee Lo never said anything about slipping ecstasy in her drink, he did reference the drug," TMZ reports. "It appears the D.A. views the tape as a confession to drug use thus the charge."
According to the Los Angeles Times, Cee Lo was formally charged onMonday afternoon with "furnishing a controlled substance to a 33-year-old woman while dining in a downtown L.A. restaurant in July 2012."
Multiple reports say the singer will likely receive a sentence of probation since it is his first offensive.
Cee Lo isn't the only celebrity who's been caught with ecstasy.
"The Office" actor Craig Robinson was arrested on drug possession charges when he traveled to the Bahamas with weed and ecstasy on Oct. 10.
"Robinson was facing up to 4 YEARS in prison but got a huge break with the magistrate, who let Craig off the hook with a simple $1,000 fine," TMZ reports. "He was also ordered to leave the country ASAP."
