Earlier last week, Apple sent out invitations to a major press event on Oct. 22 where the company is expected to release new iPads including the fifth generation full-sized iPad as well as the iPad mini 2.
According to the iDigitalTimes, the company has announced that people will be able to watch the event via the Apple live stream page online. People will be able to stream the unveiling of the new devices to any Apple device or Apple TV.
"Streaming video requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later; or QuickTime 7 on Windows. Streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later," Apple announced on its website regarding the special event October 22.
The fifth generation iPad is supposed to come with a fingerprint scanner for Touch ID access as well as an A7X 64-bit chip processor, an upgraded camera, thinner bezels and a screen resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels.
Meanwhile, the iPad mini 2 is expected to launch with a Retina display, the A6X processor and similar camera upgrades. Both new devices are rumored to take a page out of the iPhone 5S' playbook and sport new gold, gray and silver color options that were unveiled with the new iPhones earlier this year in September.
iPads won't be the only thing taking center stage at Apple's event. In June it unveiled the new Mac Pro and new Mac operating system, OS X Mavericks. Those two products have been in development ever since and are likely to get an official availability date sometime at Tuesday's press event as well.
Although it's very unlikely, Apple could also take this opportunity to acknowledge the existence of the rumored iWatch that has reportedly been in development behind the scenes for months. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Gear smartwatch at its last press event, so it's possible Apple will showcase the product in order to stay competitive.
The event can be live streamed from compatible devices and browsers HERE starting at 10 a.m. PT and 1 p.m. ET.
