Emergency services are at the scene of a mass shooting on a block of South Waterman Avenue in San Bernadino, Calif., that has left as many as 20 victims, fire officials reported on Twitter. Reports of the incident first came in around 2:15 p.m. of the shooting taking place at the Inland Regional Center, according to Gawker.
The cause of the incident is unknown. Some believe the shooting was due to a disgruntled employee, but authorities have not ruled out terrorism. A suspicious package was found at the scene, which many give credence to the terrorism theory.
Scanner chatter indicated that at least 20-30 victims are down in the mass shooting, and that at least one of the three active shooters are armed with an AR-15 and wearing body armor. Twelve people have been confirmed dead and four ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The suspects have since fled the scene and authorities are currently in pursuit of their vehicle, identified as a black SUV.
