A Portuguese version of the Xbox One quick installation guide of the device's manual was reportedly leaked online revealing specific figures for setting up the device and the Kinect that many might find useful in choosing between next-gen consoles this fall.
Microsoft has discussed the improved viewing angle of the new Kinect in the past, yet no specifics have really surfaced until this potential leak. The device ships with each Xbox One console and, according to the leaks from NeoGAF found HERE, offers a minimum distance required for use between players at 1.4 meters, or about 4.59 ft. This is a distinct improvement over the current model which suggests a 6ft/1.8 meter minimum distance before using the technology on the Xbox 360.
The smaller distance one will need to keep from their TV set and Kinect device might make the system sound more appealing for those who won't be installing the Xbox One in a big living room but rather a smaller space like a bedroom or shared dorm room.
According to the manual, and pointed out by IGN, it is suggested that the Kinect itself sit somewhere between 0.6 meters (1.97 ft) and 1.8 meters (5.9 Ft) above the floor.
The installation guide offers little else of interest. It does take a section to warn people against standing the console up on its side as well as simple instructions for connecting the Internet and hookup the system up to a TV with an without external HDMI cables or ports.
There are also sections that show how to install batteries in the Xbox One controller, sync it to the device and plug in a headset. The controller requires two AA batteries that will come with the console in the box along with Kinect, a headset a manual, controller, power cable and an HDMI cable.
