Canadians Mike Myers and Ryan Gosling brought out the laughs as the latter took to the stage during his first-ever "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig on Dec. 5. Gosling, who could barely keep a straight face throughout the entire broadcast, began his monologue by sharing some of his fondest memories of New York, where he grew up, according to Entertainment Tonight Online.
However, Cecily Strong stood up from the audience and pointed out that the 35-year-old is actually from Canada, not New York.
"Not everyone is a big fan of immigrants right now so I'm not sure I want to be shouting it from the rafters," the actor said, according to CBC News.
Not long after, in came SNL alum - and fellow Canadian - Mike Myers, 52, who joined Gosling on stage during his monologue.
He then ratted out several things about their native country, namely their new Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, "Degrassi Junior High" and "Sir" Justin Bieber. The pair then sang a Canadian Christmas song in the spirit of the holiday season.
Other skits that took place during the broadcast included Gosling and other SNL cast members being interviewed about alien abductions and a birthday party where Gosling played a father of a teenage girl, E! Online reported.
