The highly anticipated trailer for the upcoming follow up to every X-Men movie "X-Men: Days of Future Past," has been released and it isn't a teaser. Clocking in at two minutes 18 seconds the trailer is a full-blown preview for the action-pack film.
The trailer, featured below, moves pretty fast and covers a lot of ground. Take a look at it and let us know what you think in the comments section below. It appears that the plot will center around sending Wolverine back in time to stop a war against mutants.
The villain in the film has been billed as the Trask industry, with Peter Dinklage at the helm of the Sentinel manufacturing and mutant containment company. However, the threat at hand doesn't get much time in the spotlight. Instead, the trailer focuses heavily on the tormented relationship between both the young and old versions of Charles Xavier and Magneto.
"I was a very different man," says Professor X before sending Logan into the past to find him.
The trailer also cycles through several screenshots of some new X-Men including Bishop, a main character from the original comic version of the "Days of Future Past" story arch.
The film will combine all of the X-Men movies into one story. The original trilogy characters will go back in time and encounter the "First Class" characters... Also Wolverine will be there.
According to Forbes, no X-Men movie has ever made more than $575 million. The closest was X0Men: The Last Stand, which earned $459 million in 2006. Now, the copany appears to be taking a "page out of the Fast & Furious playbook" and combining its stars for one large-scale battle film.
Tell us what you think of the trailer below. Which cast are you excited to see return to the silver screen? Recognize any of the new mutants? We'd love some identification for the uninitiated.
