Drake Bell found himself on the wrong side of the law Monday after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Glendale, Calif., according to the Los Angeles Times.
The 29-year-old actor and singer was stopped by police around 2:20 a.m. after authorities witnessed him driving in an erratic manner. The former star of the hit Nickelodeon series "Drake & Josh" started swerving and speeding after he abruptly stopped at a red light. After the actor was stopped by the officers, they noticed the odor of alcohol coming from the car, according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot. They then gave Bell a field sobriety test, which he reportedly failed.
Over the summer, Bell made headlines after he tweeted that he would still call Caitlyn Jenner Bruce after she transitioned, as HNGN previously reported. He later apologized for his insensitive comments on Twitter and wrote, "I sincerely apologize for my thoughtless insensitive remarks. I in no way meant to hurt or demean those going through a similar journey. Although my comments were made in innocence, I deeply regret the negative effect they've had on so many."
Not a lot of details are known about the arrest, but Bell was given a citation and local authorities will be presenting the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office when the investigation is completed, according to E! News. A mug shot for Bell is still not available.
