Bella Moore-Williams: Miracle Baby Wakes After Life Support Is Turned Off (VIDEO)

A miracle brought Bella Moore-Williams back to life after her parents turned off her ventilator and said goodbye to their daughter. With one last photograph taken with her 5-year-old brother Bobby, and making a set of prints of her hands and feet, a heavily sedated Bella took what her parent's thought was her last breath after her life-support was turned off.

Bella's parents Francesca, 41, and Lee, 44, from Clacton-on-Sea, Essex., were told three times by Bella's doctors that it was unlikely their 18-month-old daughter would survive her genetic disease, according to the Express. But 30 minutes after turning off her life support, Bella woke and began kicking and screaming.

"We had the whole family at our sides," said Francesca, who said she would never – ever – forget that moment when she had to say goodbye to her daughter.

"On July 21 we were told to say our goodbyes and the whole family came in one by one to say their goodbyes," said Francesca.

"I just kept sitting there thinking "why us"," Francesca continued. "It was heart wrenching because you see family members [cry] that you've never seen cry before."

Bella first became ill in April, when her parents noticed she was losing clumps of hair at just 14-months-old, according to the Daily Mail. Bella also had difficulty sitting up properly.

By July, Bella's condition worsened and the doctors believed it was probably mitochondrial disease, a disease where cells fail to produce enough waste. Placed on a ventilator at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, Bella had her parents fearing the worst for their little girl.

"We arrived at about 10 o'clock in the morning, by lunchtime her legs were depressed, so they were doing a test on her legs and her legs weren't moving and then she was slipping in and out of consciousness throughout that afternoon, said Francesca, according to ITV. " On the evening, which was the 13th of July, she was ventilated and sent to Addenbrooke's Hospital."

But now, the Moore-Williams family will be celebrating Christmas day at home with their daughter, after her recovery that stunned medics and her parents. A true miracle.
