Believers at a Catholic church in Utah are praising a "bleeding" piece of communion wafer, which they claim is a miracle. The sacramental bread "bled" for three days after it was dropped in a glass of water during communion at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Kearns.
The Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City, after getting word of the so-called "miracle," is now investigating the incident, reported the Daily Mail.
Monsignor M. Francis Mannion, the head of the committee in charge of the investigation, said in a statement that "the results will be made public," but there are "no current plans for public exposition or adoration" of the "bleeding" wafer, according to KFOR-TV.
"Whatever the outcome of the investigation, we can use this time to renew our faith and devotion in the greatest miracle — the real presence of Jesus Christ that takes place at every mass," said Mannion in the statement, according to Fox 13 Salt Lake City.
