Zhang Ziyi is officially a mom! The 36-year-old "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" actress gave birth to a baby girl on Sunday, according to E! News. She posted a photo of two hands holding a baby's hands on Monday to make the announcement.
"December 27th, 2015, you, me, her...With the birth of this little life, we have our own family," she wrote on Sina Weibo, which is a Chinese micoblogging site. "Everything went safely and smoothly. Infinite gratitude!"
This is the first child for Ziyi and the third for her fiancé, Chinese rock musician Wang Feng, 44, who has two daughters from previous marriages. They have been engaged since February when he proposed via drone on her 36th birthday.
He also posted the baby announcement on his Weibo account shortly after. "The dust settles, spring begins and flowers bloom," he wrote.
The baby's name and birthplace have not yet been revealed, but it has been confirmed that the actress gave birth in the United States, according to Yahoo!
Ziyi is one of China's most popular movie stars and is best known for her roles in the Oscar-nominated film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." A sequel is due out next year, but she will not be in it, according to the Boston Herald. She has also been in "Rush Hour 2," "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Horsemen." In 2013, she starred in the Hong Kong-Chinese acclaimed martial arts epic "The Grandmaster" and earned several best-actress trophies across Asia.
