A horse, a unicorn and a bachelorette walk into a mansion. What might seem like the beginning of a good joke was actually what transpired during the season premiere of ABC's "The Bachelor." The two-hour long episode was full of awkward introductions, then some of ladies' jealous sides were exposed when Higgins chose the one lucky recipient of his First Impression rose and one contestant quickly assumed the role of the "crazy" one in the mansion.
The ladies each were able to craft their own entrances and introductions with Higgins, and while some opted for a demure limo exit, there were others who sought to stand out a little more. One contestant arrived on a hover board, one brought Higgins a bread basket, one contestant wore a large rose headband on her head, another wore a unicorn mask while a cowgirl brought another male in the house - her mini-horse named Huey, as previously reported by HNGN.
Lace, a 25-year-old real estate agent from Denver, was the first lady to plant a kiss on Higgins, and she was also the first to stir drama by seeking Higgins' attention and displaying jealousy when he spent time with other women, especially Becca and Amber from Chris Soules' season of the ABC franchise. She also seemed to be the first girl to drink a little too much champagne, and she appeared to be drunk as she slurred her words in some of her on-camera interviews. Another contestant went as far as saying that Lace was "50 shades of crazy."
The coveted First Impression rose went to Olivia, a 23-year-old from Austin, Texas who left her job as a news anchor for the chance to win Higgins' heart.
Olivia and Lace both received roses during the first rose ceremony and tears fell as seven women didn't make the cut. Contestants Breanne, Maegan, Isabel, Tiara, Laura, Lauren R., and Jessica all went home after the first night.
