Prosecutors in Belgium said on Friday they believe they have located an apartment in Brussels where one of the jihadists hid after the terrorist attacks in Paris in November 2015, BBC News reported.
Police found a fingerprint of fugitive Salah Abdeslam as well as traces of explosives and three handmade belts in an apartment in the Schaerbeek district in the Belgian capital, which was rented under a false name and might have been used by a person who is already under police custody.
The discovery was made during a search that took place on Dec. 10. The prosecutors did not explain why they only released the details just now, according to Agence France-Presse.
The police have been on the hunt for Abdeslam since terrorists and suicide bombers wreaked havoc and killed 130 people and injured others in a series of attacks in the French capital on Nov. 13.
Prosecutors added that the three handmade belts that were found "could have been intended for the transport of explosives," according to The Associated Press.
