While fans patiently wait for "Twin Peaks" to premiere, Showtime is apparently busy casting some familiar and some new faces for the highly anticipated reboot series. With the network's decision to revive the series nearly 24 years after it ended, they also decided to bring back Audrey Horney, who was one of the most popular characters from the original show.
Apparently, Sherilyn Fenn, who played the original Audrey back in the 90s, has signed on to reprise the role, according to Deadline. Fenn is expected to have a major presence in the new installment.
This isn't Fenn's first time working with Showtime, either, as she has been recently filming her recurring role on the latest season of "Shameless" and has had a huge part on "Ray Donovan."
It's unclear exactly who will make up the cast of "Twin Peaks" as there have also been rumors of Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Seryl Lee joining the show, but there is one other, besides Kylie MacLachlan, who has been somewhat confirmed, and that's Laura Dern. Sources have confirmed that the show's co-creator David Lynch has brought on Dern to join the revival series with a pivotal role, according to TV Line. While details about her character have not yet been released, people do believe she could play Agent Cooper's never-before-seen secretary Diane.
The "Twin Peaks" reboot has been a strange case as the entire series has been up in the air from the start, but as of November, it officially got a target premiere, as HNGN previously reported. At first, the limited-run series was set to premiere in 2016, but Showtime has pushed it to 2017.
