Jillian Michaels is best known as the "toughest trainer" on NBC's hit extreme weight loss show "The Biggest Loser," but she's more than just that. Michaels is also a partner to yoga instructor Heidi Rhoades, a mother to her son Phoenix Michaels Rhoades and daughter Lukensia Michaels Rhoades - and a fitness and health expert and entrepreneur.
Michaels opened up her life to reality TV cameras for her first reality series "Just Jillian," which will focus more on her life outside of the gym. Fans can watch how the mom of two balances her professional and personal life, and the 41-year-old television personality and businesswoman said that for her new series, nothing is off-limits to the cameras.
"I've always been an open book and I think that's important," Michaels said during a recent "Today" appearance. "We try to deal with on the show the same issues that other families are dealing with and other people are dealing with at work, and their personal lives. It's funny, it's heartfelt and hopefully you'll be entertained and you'll take a few things away."
In a preview for the upcoming season, fans will get the chance to see Michaels in her role as a mom to her two children. Cameras captured a deeper look into her personal parenting style when Michaels didn't holding back while explaining the meaning of a particular swear word to her daughter.
"Bulls--t is when, like they run out of Halloween candy, that's bulls--t," Michaels told Lukensia in a clip from the upcoming season.
Michaels also allowed cameras to document her relationship with Rhoades, who are in a committed domestic partnership and her role as a protective sibling to her little sister Lauren Michaels. In one scene, Lauren introduced her sister to her new boyfriend, and Michaels grilled him about his family and whether or not he does drugs. An assistant told Michaels that Lauren's boyfriend seemed like a "good kid."
"There's no such thing as a really good teenage boy," Michaels told her assistant.
Fans also get a peek into Michael's career as she jet-setted to various cities and countries to promote her fitness and health brands.
"There's only 24 hours in a day and I've got 48 hours worth of stuff to do," Michaels said in the clip, with tears streaming down her face.
