Japanese video company Sega has announced the release of the "Sega 3-D Classics Collection," which will include the remake of its famous classic games like "Sonic The Hedgehog" and "Altered Beast."
It will feature nine of the company's classic games for the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, including a few games that have never been released outside of Japan, such as "Power Drift," a racing game, and "Maze Walker," a Genesis maze-running game that had SegaScope 3-D glasses support, according to IGN.
The collection is set for release on April 26 for $30.
Developer M2 recreated the experiences of each included classic game by breaking down the original and powering it up with new visuals and game modes to make it adapt and take full advantage of the Nintendo 3DS system, according to another IGN report.
"These games are not just a copy of the original, but have been redeveloped to create an immersive 3D experience of these classic games," SEGA said on its website.
The full list of games included in the collection is "Power Drift," "Puyo Puyo 2," "Maze Walker," "Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa," "Fantasy Zone II W," "Thunder Blade," "Galaxy Force II," "Altered Beast" and of course, "Sonic The Hedgehog," according to GamesBeat on Yahoo! News.
