Mirando Otto has been confirmed as the female lead in the Fox reboot, "24: Legacy," according to Deadline. The "Homeland" actress will play the role of Rebecca Ingram, a CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit) head and wife of a senator. Her character is described as someone "struggling with second thoughts about having left the counterterrorism agency."
The news comes days after FOX announced Corey Hawkins of "Straight Outta Compton" as the lead in the Kiefer Sutherland franchise reboot, as HNGN previously reported.
The 12-episode series, which FOX ordered earlier this month, features a brand new set of characters and follows the story of an army ranger who returns to the United States and teams up with the CTU to prevent a terrorist attack on American soil, IGN reported.
"24: Legacy" will be helmed by Stephen Hopkins and written by "24" alums Evan Katz and Manny Coto, who will also serve as executive producers along with Teakwood Lane's Howard Gordon and Imagine TV's Brian Grazer.
