Stephen Colbert on Thursday announced the all-star lineup for his live post-Super Bowl broadcast of "The Late Show." In a series of tweets, Colbert announced that Tina Fey, Margot Robbie, Will Ferrell, Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele will all join him on the Feb. 7 episode.
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will be the first talk show to land the coveted post-Super Bowl time slot and will be followed up directly by "The Late Late Show with James Corden," as HNGN previously reported. Colbert will not be on site at the Super Bowl in California, but he will instead broadcast "The Late Show" from its home at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City.
"Got my Super Bowl squad ready. Hey Tina Fey, @MargotRobbie, Will Ferrell, @KeeganMKey, and @JordanPeele: Aim for the knees! #LSSC," Colbert wrote on his Twitter account.
The slot usually draws huge ratings for whatever program is lucky enough to land the spot. CBS' previous selections "Survivor" and "Undercover Boss" both performed well, but they could not top the 1996 hour-long episode of "Friends" called "The One After the Super Bowl." The episode brought in an incredible 52.9 million viewers at the time, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" will broadcast after the Carolina Panthers take on the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50 around 10 p.m. ET.
