Chris Brown is very upset that he didn't receive a Grammy nomination this year, and he isn't holding back!
The rapper went on a Twitter rant on Friday and expressed his displeasure for the award show. "#GRAMMY? This is probably the main reason I love being free to create any kind of music I want," Brown wrote. "Too many people kiss ass and work less."
"If u turn on ya radio right now I promise within the hour you will hear CHRIS BROWN on damn near half the songs or I've co-written," the 26-year-old said in a following tweet. "The awards used to mean something. Now it's about likes, and memes," he added, according to People. The tweet has since been deleted from his account.
Brown then thanked his fans and 15.5 million followers before going on about his ability to "be the best artist" he can "without having to conform to the ways of my peers." "I also need my commission," he added.
Brown's reaction comes as a surprise, since the rapper received a Grammy nomination for "Only," his collab with Lil' Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake. His latest album "Royalty," however, was not nominated this year, as HNGN previously reported.
Brown has been nominated for a Grammy 15 times previously and has only won once for "F.A.M.E" in the Best R&B album category in 2012.
