It's been about two years since Hilary Duff and NHL star Mike Comrie split and about a year since she filed for divorce, and even though the two have remained on good terms for the sake of their three-year-old son Luca, they still have been working toward making the split official.
Now, almost exactly one year later, the divorce has been finalized, according to TMZ. The legal documents state that the 28-year-old "Younger" actress must pay Comrie $2,408,786 to settle the financial split, but she does get to keep their Beverly Hills mansion and other property.
They will also get joint custody of Luca and split the child-rearing costs as neither will get spousal support. Duff gets to keep her interest in a Malibu mobile home, which is apparently a very common thing to do among the rich and famous, and Comrie gets to keep his 2014 Bentley coupe, his 2013 Mercedes G-Class SUV and a lot of jewelry.
"They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives," Duff's rep said in a statement when they first announced their divorce in January 2014. "They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time."
Just last week, Duff appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and confirmed that she and Comrie were no longer together. When the host asked her about their relationship and praised her for the fact that they're friends and raising their son together, Duff couldn't help but be happy about the way things stand between them.
"We have such a great kid, and we're both so obsessed with him," she explained. "We are good friends and we laugh a lot and we have a great communication. We share pictures and tell stories when one is not with Luca. Yeah, he's great. We are great and we keep on trucking."
