Courteney Cox is returning to the small screen in the new Fox comedy "Charity Case," according to Variety. In addition to starring in the show, she is also set to serve as an executive producer along with Robert Padnick and James Griffiths.
"Charity Case" is a single-camera, half-hour comedy that has Cox playing the role of Hailey, a woman who "quickly finds that changing the world is far less glamorous than she had imagined after she inherits her late billionaire husband's charity," according to the Hollywood Reporter. If the show gets a series order from Fox, it will mark the first time the actress returns to television since her "Friends" comeback show "Cougar Town" concluded its six season run last year.
Cox is not the only former "Friends" star making television news. Last week, Matt LeBlanc announced he would be taking over co-hosting duties for the BBC show "Top Gear" and will also star in a new CBS comedy. This is in addition to his current Showtime show "Episodes," according to Vulture. Meanwhile, David Schwimmer is currently playing Robert Kardashian on FX's "American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson" and will also star in the upcoming AMC series "Feed the Beast."
Later this month, the cast of "Friends," minus Matthew Perry, will reunite for the Feb. 21 tribute celebration to veteran comedy director James Burrows.
