A baby girl born with a heart-shaped mark on her forehead was revealed to have been conceived on Valentine's Day. Poppy-Rae, the daughter of Jade Sparham, 20, and Liam Scaife, 21, from Lincolnshire in England, was welcomed by the first-time parents in November 2015.
"I couldn't believe when we spotted the heart on her head, especially after we worked out that she was conceived on Valentine's Day last year," Sparham said via The Sun.
The mark appeared on the baby girl's forehead a few hours after Sparham gave birth. Then two days later, the mark turned bright red especially when Poppy-Rae would cry, according to Mirror. Concerned, the mom had a doctor check Poppy, who assured the parents that the skin condition is not a health threat. It's actually a birthmark.
"It definitely makes this Valentine's Day extra special for us. Poppy-Rae is like our very own cupid baby. Now Liam and I can't stop kissing her little face," said the mom via Daily Mail.
Sparham only recently realized that Poppy-Rae was conceived on Feb. 14 after planning how to celebrate Valentine's Day Sunday with their newest family member. "We worked out the dates from my scans."
The parents admitted they're worried Poppy-Rae might be bullied by other kids when she's older. "But now, we've realized that her birthmark is what makes her unique and it makes her more beautiful to us both," Sparham said. "As soon as her love-heart becomes more prominent, it's a reminder to Liam and me that she was born from our love and conceived on the day of love."
Doctors also told the couple that Poppy-Rae's mark might disappear when she's four or five, or it could reappear when she's a lot older. But the parents hope that the heart-shaped birthmark remains the way it is permanently. "It's a part of her, and it makes her so unique. I wouldn't have her any other way," the proud mom concluded.
