Guinness Beer For J.J. Watt: Irish Brewery Made Football Star His Own Special Beer

This year, J.J. Watt, football player for the Houston Texans, took his annual trip with his nine best friends from high school and ended up in Dublin, reported ESPN. While there, they headed to the Guinness Brewery and were surprised with a specially-brewed beer made just for Watt and his pals. The label was football-textured and displayed the player's jersey number, 99, according to Bleacher Report.

The 26-year-old NFL star was thrilled with the brewery's gesture and tweeted his appreciation.

Watt has won the title of NFL Defensive Player of the Year two seasons in a row and, now that the season is over, he's off celebrating in Ireland, where he also visited in 2013, reported the 42. He fell in love with Guinness after his first visit, and believes the brewery's gesture came to be because he had mentioned Guinness as his favorite beer in a Q&A session on Twitter, as well as on "The Dan Patrick Show," reported ESPN.

The yearly trip is "a thank you for being loyal and a chance for me to be a normal guy because they don't treat me like a superstar, [my friends] treat me like the normal guy that I am," said Watt, reported ESPN.

Neither Watt nor Guinness discussed the taste of the special beer, although we imagine it was delicious and a perfect way to celebrate Watt's career.
