Let’s recap some the shocking moments so far this season—Amara is revealed as the anchor to the other side, Nadia admits that she’s Katherine’s daughter, and Tyler left for “The Originals”.
However, the most shocking moment may still be yet to come.
EOnline reported earlier today two people are going to hook up—and it isn’t two characters you would expect.
The website gave four clues as to who the two characters will be:
--One person is helping the other out tremendously
--The characters aren’t played by recurring cast members, they are series regulars
--It will happen later in the season, as in not tonight
--Their history is what makes it surprising

While your pondering your theory here’s mine—Matt and Katherine.
Matt and Katherine have never been the best of friends, which helps make this the best pick. If there’s one person who could use help right now it’s Katherine. She’s dying and she’s most likely getting adjusted to life as a human. Also, Matt and Katherine are connected, in a way. Katherine’s daughter Nadia is the friend of the person possessing Matt.
The reason why I’m not going Stefan/Caroline here is because it wouldn’t be that surprising since fans have been pining for the two to get together for a while.
There are obviously other candidates for the hook-up such as Caroline/Damon, Bonnie/Stefan and Jeremy/Caroline. However, while these would be surprising I can’t see how they would add to the story.
In tonight’s episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Bonnie will be dealing with the painful side effects of being the anchor. Katherine will be dealing with the painful side effects of trying to help Stefan. You’ll see what I mean in the preview below.
