Barry Manilow Returns To Stage Days After Hospitalization

Barry Manilow made a surprise return to the stage at Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammys party in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The legendary singer had just been hospitalized days earlier due to complications after an emergency surgery.

The 72-year-old singer showed no ill health as he started his set off with the ballad "Mandy," according to Billboard.

"I'm really glad to be here. What a week!," the singer said when the song was over. "This is the 40th anniversary of the release of 'Mandy' - and the beginning of this beautiful party."

After Manilow was done with his performance, Davis himself took the stage and admitted that he did not know if the singer would be able to perform that night due to his recent health issues.

Last Monday, Manilow had an emergency oral surgery in Memphis, Tenn., and was "rushed" to a hospital in Los Angeles due to complications form the surgery on Thursday, according to CNN. The health scare forced the singer to cancel two of his concerts in Tennessee, but both will be reschulded for a later time.

In addition to Manilow's triumphant return to the stage, there were plenty of other exciting events that happened at Davis' party. The Foo Fighters' lead singer Dave Grohl and Beck performed a moving tribute to the late David Bowie while Melissa Ethridge remembered the Eagles' Glenn Frey, according to Entertainment Tonight. Carly Simon and Fetty Wap also performed at the pre-Grammys event.
