Iman Honors Husband David Bowie Before Grammys With Fashion Statement (PHOTO)

While Lady Gaga put on an incredible performance to honor the late David Bowie at the 2016 Grammys Monday night, his wife Iman Abdulmajid honored the iconic singer in her very own special way- with a major fashion statement.

Abdulmajid took to Instagram hours before the show to share a glimpse of her outfit, and even though the caption simply read, "@gucci #Fall2016," the Bowie-inspired sweater spoke for itself. The black sweater says "Bowie" across the shoulders with colorful embellishments of birds, butterflies, hearts and flowers on it.

While many wondered whether or not the 60-year-old model would attend the ceremony, she ended up not going, according to E! News. Even though she was not in attendance, Bowie's legacy was still honored in the greatest way possible.

Gaga put on an extremely moving performance to pay tribute to the late rock legend with a medley of his 10 best-known songs. She even transformed herself into his glam alter ego Ziggy Stardust for the spot-on performance "The world loves you David," Gaga captioned a touching video of herself crying as she listened to his music and got ready to go on stage.

Iman only recently broke her silence on Bowie's death, nearly a month after he passed on Jan. 10 following an 18-month-long battle with cancer, as HNGN previously reported. She posted an uplifting message, thanking her fans for their support during this difficult time. "Love & gratitude," the post read. The two had been married since 1992.
