Iman has broken her social media silence following the death of her husband, legendary singer David Bowie. The 60-year-old model took to her Instagram page and posted a simple uplifting message directed to her fans thanking them for their support through this difficult time.
"Love & gratitude," the post read. Bowie, who married Iman in 1992 after two years of dating, died on January 10, just two days after his 69th birthday following an 18-month-long battle with cancer, as previously reported by HNGN.
"THANK YOU," a post on Bowie's official Facebook page read after his death. "The family of David Bowie is currently making arrangements for a private ceremony celebrating the memory of their beloved husband, father and friend. They ask once again that their privacy be respected at this most sensitive of times. We are overwhelmed by and grateful for the love and support shown throughout the world."
Following her husband's death, Iman has posted a quote by French author Georges Duhamel, which read, "Sometimes you will never know the value of something, until it becomes a memory." She also shared an image saying, "The struggle is real, but so is God."
"Iman is doing well. She has been spending lots of time with her daughter and is keeping busy," a source told E! News last week. The source added that Iman has taken notice of the tributes made for her husband and is "very touched by all the support from friends, family and fans."
In Bowie's will, the singer left his wife approximately half of his fortune, which has an estimated worth of $100 million, as previously reported by HNGN.
The remainder of his fortune would be given to his assistants and children Alexandria Zahra Jones, 15, and Duncan Jones, 44, from a Bowie's previous marriage to Angie Barnett.
