Erin Andrews Trial: Dad Says She's A 'Shell Of Her Former Self'

Erin Andrews' father Steve testified in his daughter's civil trial on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported. Erin, a Fox Sports reporter and "Dancing with the Stars" host, is involved in a $75 million lawsuit against the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University hotel for allegedly allowing her serial stalker to stay in the room next to her, where he recorded nude videos of her that later leaked online.

Steve told the jury his daughter is a "shell of her former self" after her experience with her stalker. "She's afraid. She's afraid of crowds, afraid of people. She doesn't trust anymore," he said.

Erin, 37, worked for ESPN in 2008 and covered college football games. She was staying at the Nashville Marriott while covering a college football game, and she alleged that the hotel allowed her stalker, Michael David Barrett, to stay in the room next to her. Barrett altered the peephole on the door of Erin's hotel room in order to record nude videos of her and leaked the videos online in 2009 after failing to sell the clips, according to CNN Money.

Steve said his daughter was "hysterically crying, screaming out of her mind" when she found out about the leaked videos and vomited before agreeing to watch them with the FBI in order to find out who recorded them.

Barrett pleaded guilty, admitting that he stalked Erin in at least three different cities and was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, CBS News reported. Erin's psychotherapist also testified and said that Erin suffered from anxiety and depression since the videos leaked. At least 17 million people have viewed the nude footage of Erin online, according to a testimony from a computer science professor.

Erin's lawyers claim the hotel management was negligent in allowing Barrett to stay in the room adjacent to hers and that she's suing for negligence, emotional distress and invasion of privacy.
