How To Get The Perfect Bangs With This Haircut Hack [VIDEO]

Makeup artist and vlogger Camila Bravo has uploaded an instructional video on how to cut your own bangs. The short clip is going viral because Bravo's haircut hack supposedly delivers the perfect fringes, even if you haven't had classes for haircutting.

Cutting your own bangs might look easy as there's only a small part of hair you need to trim off. But since bangs fall and frame the face, it's crucial that you get the cut right. There's always that chance you could end up with a bad look if you're not careful about cutting them well.

It's no wonder why some women are intimidated by trimming their bangs, but Bravo might just have the easiest, most perfect solution. The Philly-based Colombian makeup artist first posted the tutorial on her Instagram and it has since gotten thousands of views and shares. "I been cutting my own side bangs since forever ago. I love how they come out just by doing what I am showing here, so I thought I should share with you guys," she wrote.

Bravo begins by combing part of her hair and then spraying the section she wants to cut with water to dampen this. She then twists this part of her bangs, then proceeds to hold it tightly and securely as she reaches for the scissors to cut it. It's a technique that might be distressing to watch, especially for those who aren't used to DIY cutting.

But the technique does work for those who want to do simple layering with fringes. "I cut bangs like this also, but I connect it with a face frame," shared another stylist who saw Bravo's video.

If you're going to DIY your bangs, it's also good to take note of a few style tips from the experts :

1. Keep in mind that the hair shrinks when cutting wet, so consider cutting a little lower than your desired length. You can always trim a little more when they grow out after a few weeks.

2. Use scissors with smaller blades to make less mistakes and less accidents with your fingers.

3.Your bangs should be shorter in the middle than on the sides. Avoid V-shaped bangs.
