"Hot Mom" Maria Kang responds to Caroline Berg Erikson, a fellow fitness blogger who posted a post-pregnancy selfie that's gaining Internet backlash.
The photo Erikson posted showed herself in a pink bra and black underwear, highlighting her toned abs and flat tummy, a body-type that is not common for woman to have so quickly after they give birth.
"This is not a selfie. This is an act of war," one Australian blogger wrote about the image, Yahoo! Shine reported. "This whole situation has become ludicrous. The competition for women to give birth and then immediately remove any trace from their their bodies that they ever carried a child is OBSCENE. There is no other word for it."
Kang is no stranger to controversy, as she has stated multiple times her views on obesity and how woman should not use "being a mom" as an excuse for not staying active and healthy.
On her official Facebook page, Kang compared her past pregnancy weight loss with Erikson's photo, explaining it took her longer than four days to get her body back in shape.
"Have you seen this? [Erikson] just gave birth 4 days before taking this selfie. WOW. Talk about pressure! That's incredible - but for those who are like me, it takes 9 months to build my belly and it took me nearly the same amount of time to get it back to where I wanted it," Kang wrote.
Kang posted a side-by-side comparison photo of her body a week after giving birth versus Erikson's selfie to give moms a different perspective. (Pictured above)
"Don't be hard on yourself. Life changes when you have a child making prioritizing your fitness more difficult," Kang added.
