England Women, who won their opening WT20 match against Bangladesh, outclassed hosts India Women by two wickets in a thrilling Group B encounter at Dharamshala on Tuesday. Batting first, the Mithali Raj-led Indian side made a paltry 90 for eight in 20 overs. The English team chased down the target with two wickets and an over to spare.
"I have felt that nervous before but it doesn't get any easier watching the last few runs. The most important thing is we got a win here. I thought we did well to break the back of that score in the first six overs but then it got away from us a bit," England skipper Charlotte Edwards said after a very narrow win over India.
West Indian women secured a top position in their group after beating Bangladesh in their second World T20 encounter at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
