'Dark Souls III' Glitch: How To Get Infinite Souls By Duplicating Boss Souls [VIDEO]

The "Dark Souls" series is well known for being difficult, but it's almost as well known for all the glitches that can be found throughout the games. Methods to obtain infinite souls has been one of the more common glitches and it was only a matter of time before one showed up in "Dark Souls III."

Glitches to get infinite souls has long been one of the more coveted glitches for some throughout the series. Souls are the game's currency and players use it for things ranging from levelling up to purchasing items from vendors.

The latest glitch is more of the same, but incorporates a new twist. The manner by which players get their infinite souls comes by duplicating the boss souls you obtain from defeating a boss, rather than regular items.

Here's how it works:

Be sure to have an Estus Flask in your tool belt with no other items there, the boss soul in your inventory with no other items inside and a shield equipped for parrying.

Step 1: Hit L2 to enter the parry animation.

Step 2: Hit Square, Option, Down on the D-pad and X (this all needs to be done after the parry swing is over while the character is bringing the shield back down to their side).

Step 3: If done correctly, you will notice the tool belt pop up for a split second before disappearing and you'll receive a prompt to use the boss soul. If the tool belt appears in the middle of pressing the buttons, then the boss soul has been successfully duplicated and can be used with no repercussions, otherwise you'll need to repeat Step 2.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Basically, what's happening is that the player is using a boss soul (square) during a parry and then quickly opening their inventory (option), selecting the Estus Flask (down on the D-pad) and using it (X). This tricks the game into thinking that the player used a flask instead of the boss soul.

Do note that the effectiveness of this glitch is highly dependent on what boss soul you're using. You get far greater returns from using the Soul of the Twin Princes as opposed to Soul of the Rotted Greatwood.

While on the subject of specific boss souls, Soul of the Twin Princes is a particularly useful soul to duplicate as you would technically need to clear the game four times to get all three weapons the soul offers: one playthrough to acquire either Lorian's Greatsword or Lothric's Holy Sword, one playthrough to acquire the other sword that you didn't choose the first time and fuse them to create the Twin Princes' Greatsword, and two more playthroughs to acquire both base weapons again.

The glitch still works as of patch 1.04, which went live Monday, so using it simply comes down to whether you're willing to take the challenge out of a game that prides itself on its difficulty.
