After 20 years of walking in some of the biggest fashion shows in the world, Gisele Bündchen announced she had hung up her heels and retired from the runway after completing her final walk during Sao Paulo Fashion Week in April. But that does not mean she still can't catwalk like a pro.
The Brazilian supermodel stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday night and told the host that with her absence, someone else will need to fill the void she left in the world of modeling, so who better than to take her place than Fallon himself?
"I was kind of thinking that you can take my place," Bündchen told Fallon.
Before Fallon could walk for designers like Chanel, Gucci or Dolce & Gabbana, he needed some lessons from the 35-year-old model, which also included Fallon wearing a pair of blue beaded heels.
"So, put the chest forward, squeeze the belly in, stomach in, shake the hips," she instructed as music played in the background.
Bündchen first walked "The Tonight Show" runway to show Fallon how the pros do it, but then it was the former "Saturday Night Live" star's turn. She then stepped aside to give the host a shot on the catwalk. Fallon was a bit shaky in his heels at first, but after his first try, he managed to impress the supermodel as he followed her instructions with the help of a killer drumbeat by The Roots' Questlove.
Prior to Bündchen's runway lessons, she sat down with Fallon to discuss what her life would be like since she retired from the catwalk.
"I'm kind of really focusing on, I have kids, and I'm really focusing on being the best mom I can be and my family," Bündchen said. "[I'm"] just kind of taking this year as a sabbatical to see where my life will take me, just kind of see what the next 20 years are going to look like. I'm just waiting to be inspired."
The model has two children, son Benjamin, 6, and 3-year-old daughter Vivian, with her NFL quarterback husband, Tom Brady.
