In an exclusive interview with Glamour, the 28-year-old singer talked about her return to the music industry while citing that her new single was her tribute to the genre that inspired her love for music.
"I've taken the chorus of an old school classic and written around it. It's one of the most loved tracks of the 90s, and one of my favorite songs as a child. It was amazing to remake and rewrite a song like 'Sweet Like Chocolate', it feels like a good way to come back," she said.
Shanks & Bigfoot achieved huge commercial success in the UK and Europe when they released the song in 1999.
Following the release of her new single on Sept. 2, Tulisa will try to focus her attention on resuming her career and rebooting her own life, according to the Daily Mail.
But she revealed that love is not on her priority list.
The former "X-Factor" judge also admitted that she learned to let go of the negative comments on the social media. Previously, she was easily drawn into social media feud, and involved in a lot of scandals. But as she grew older, she said, she learned to control her anger.
"I have let go of a lot of anger. Society these days, not just the press, but the people have become really judgmental and really detached from people's emotions," she pointed out.
"We seem to have become so used to just judging and we think it's having an opinion or 'this is my right to speak' but sometimes it's just being plain bitchy. We need to maybe take a step back and reconnect with each other. I've been guilty of it in the past," she added.
