'Modern Family' Season 8 enlists first transgender actor

For the first time in history, "Modern Family" Season 8 casts a young transgender actor on board.

Aside from that, ABC has released the official plot description of Episode 2 while last week's premiere episode is recapped here for fans who missed to watch it.

Jackson Millarker has officially joined the cast of "Modern Family" Season 8. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Millarker will play the role of Tom, an openly transgender child who will become Lily Tucker-Pritchett's (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) friend.

As for the official plot synopsis of Episode 2, Spoilers Guide noted, "Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill) does not want to give the new family moving in across the street the wrong impression and goes out of his way to make sure they know he is the best kind of neighbor, while Manny Delgado (Rico Rodriguez) decides that the best way to an attractive and radical-thinking teenage girl's heart is through his actions."

Meanwhile, at the Pritchett house, the entire family is using Alex Dunphy's (Ariel Winter) recent bout of mono to their advantage. Finally, Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) have always felt they were the most open, non-judgmental and supportive parents.

However, when they overhear Lily insulting her new friend, they have to take a quick look on the mirror before they teach her a lesson about acceptance.

For a quick rundown of "Modern Family" Season 8 premiere episode "A Tale of Three Cities", Entertainment Weekly reported that the Dunphy family traveled to New York City while Mitch, Cam and Lily visited the Midwest.

On the other hand, Jay, Gloria Delgado-Pritchett (Sofia Vergara), Manny, and Joe Pritchett (Jeremy Maguire) went to Mexico.

"Modern Family" Season 8 Episode 2 is entitled "A Stereotypical Day".

The upcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, Sep. 28, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. first and exclusive on ABC Television Network.
