While the rumours are spreading about the specs and features of OnePlus 4, well-known analyst Pan Jiutang revealed that the Chinese firm is working on an improved edition of OnePlus 3 Plus. The analyst has a good record of giving the accurate information for the upcoming devices.
According to TheBitBag, in August there were lots of speculations in the market saying OnePlus 3 Mini is arriving soon. However, Carl Pei, who is the co-founder of OnePlus Company, denied the rumours saying such development did not exist.
OnePlus 3 was powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset and features like full HD screen. Recently released smartphones such as Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Special Edition, Xiaomi Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, and Google Pixel are powered with the latest Snapdragon 821 chipset.
The Snapdragon 821 chipset is an enhanced version of Snapdragon 820.Google Pixel is considered as the first mainstream smartphone to feature the new chipset.
Speculations are widespread because most of the recently released flagships are coming with Snapdragon 821 chipset. It is likely that OnePlus 3 Plus will be arriving with this new SoC. OnePlus' latest model is likely to get the screen of the enhanced version that will be supporting quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, reports iTechPost.
The upcoming flagship will be giving a rival for Googles Pixel as it may be the first OnePlus device to come with pre-installed Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Also, OnePlus 3 Plus battery is supposed to be larger of 3,500 mAh.
OnePlus 3 Plus is expected to bring in dual camera setup, challenging Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which is equipped with a dual-rear camera setup for wider angle and better photo quality.
According to an IBT Times UK report, next year, the company could build OnePlus 4 device that will sport a display with the size ranging from 5.5 inches to 6 inches. This is pretty in line with what Pei said recently that "it's too hard to fit a big enough battery into a 5-inch device."
At this time there is no official confirmation on the release of OnePlus 3 Plus. There's also possibility that the flagship could be marketed using the OnePlus 3S name.
