The Incredibles 2 Update: Official release date set June 2018; New villain revealed?

Disney has just recently announced the impending release date of the much-awaited 'The Incredibles 2.' According to the company, they have moved the film to June 15, 2018, and just a year later will also be having Toy Story 4 landing in theaters on June 21, 2019.

These dates may seem a bit far away for anyone's taste, but that doesn't mean fans are not pumped and started counting down on their calendars. And to honor this exciting news, here are everything we know about The Incredibles 2:

The Incredible Swap

Originally, The Incredibles 2 was going to be released in June 2019. But then something happened and now the film's release date is swapping with Toy Story 4, which was originally due for a June 2018 release.

Until now, there has been no official explanation with regard to the swap. Along with that news, it has been reported that Brad Bird will still be the director! Yep, you heard it here. The original writer and director of The Incredibles 1 are returning once again to direct the film.

Retaining the New and Replacing the Old

Original character Violet Parr will still be voiced by their original voice actor Sarah Vowell while Dash Parr will be receiving a whole new voice. Raymond Ochoa is rumored to be voicing the said character, replacing Spencer Fox who originally voiced Dash.

Moreover, rumors have been speculating that Jack-Jack Parr, the cute little baby in the first film will actually be the sequel's main villain. Shocker, I know. This rumor surfaced after movie analysts and fans recalled that the latter scenes in the original Incredibles movie emphasized about just how powerful he would become when he grows of age.

Will Jack-Jack be the main villain?

Bird has already stressed that this upcoming movie won't be the typical superhero film that we commonly see and judging by his expert and credible profile, we are leaning towards believing it. He also elaborated that the sequel will focus more on characters relationships, which gives a lot more assurance towards the Jack-Jack-to-villain theory.
