A new trailer for the highly anticipated season 4 of "Game of Thrones" is to be released this Sunday, WinerIsComing.net reports, and the premiere date has officially been revealed.
Season 4 will premiere on April 6, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, and the trailer will be released Sunday at 8:55 PM ET before the series premiere of "True Detective," as HBO recently announced, "the first extended look at the new season and features new characters and episodic footage."
Around this time of year, we only got a glimpse of promos, not full trailers for previous seasons. After the trailer airs, it will go up online immediately, though Entertainment Weekly promises an exclusive glimpse of the trailer before it even airs, details of which will be revealed this weekend.
This season will certainly be a big one, with more shocks, drama, bloody battles and plenty of court drama and intrigue. Season 4 loosely follows the second half of George R. R. Martin's "A Storm of Swords," though due to timing for television, some liberties have been taken with Daenerys Targaryen's storyline and how it progresses.
Season 4 also brings important new characters like Oberyn Martell the Red Viper, Ellaria Sand and Mace Tyrell, among others, including actors whose roles remain unknown as of now.
