'House of Cards' Season 5 Spoilers: Will Donald Trump victory affect storyline? Kevin Spacey to exit show?

Netflix's American political drama web television series, House of Cards, is going to premiere its fifth upcoming season soon. Following this, rumors have surfaced online with regard to the possible events and revelations that may occur on the premiere of the newest season.

It was in January that Netflix had announced that the hit drama series had been renewed for another season, which is scheduled for airing next year. Fans have then speculated some major plots that they may expect once airing starts. Spoilers follow below. Read at your own risk.

Rumors have it that the fifth season will reportedly feature the death of a major character. From an interview with Deadline, Michael Kelly, who portrays loyalist Douglas 'Doug' Stamper, had stated, "You lose characters that you love. We almost lost Frank, and I always have faith in the writers that no matter what road we go down, we're going to come back to what the show is."

Because of his statement, many speculated that an important character will possibly be breathing his last breath on the series. According to News Everyday, the show's main protagonist, Frank Underwood, portrayed by Kevin Spacey, could be the one that might die on the fifth season. This sparks speculations that he will exit from the show.

It could also be Michael Kelly's character, Doug Stamper, based on his emotional interview. If ever speculations about Frank's death is true, fans could only suspect Stamper to be the mastermind of the murder.

There are also reports claiming that the storyline for the fifth season may have something to do with the victory of new President-elect of the US, Donald Trump. It can be recalled that series creator, Beau Willimon, had been vocal about his stand against the billionaire businessman and newly-elected president of the country. So, fans have wondered if his victory can affect the storyline of the fifth season of the political drama series.

However, the production team have been tight-lipped about the rumors and fans and viewers of the series are just going to have to wait for House of Cards Season 5 to premiere next year.
