Beyoncé and Solange Knowles threw their mother, Tina Knowles, an elaborate masquerade birthday party on Jan. 11 to celebrate her 60th birthday. The star-studded party was attended by Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, R&B singer Monica, The Dream and Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner. Beyoncé's husband Jay Z was also at the party.
The birthday bash took place at a famed New Orleans restaurant in Muriel's Jackson Square. According to the Daily Mail, guests were asked to dress in cocktail attire and couldn't be admitted to the party without a mask. For those who forgot their decorative face masks, extras were provided at the door.
"Solange Knowles and Beyoncé Carter cordially invite you to share in an enchanted evening in New Orleans to celebrate the birthday of their mother Tina Knowles in the tradition of an old New Orleans masquerade party," the invitation read, which was obtained by TMZ.
The birthday girl arrived to the event in a horse and carriage along with her boyfriend and veteran actor Richard Lawson. According to TMZ, the entire celebration cost around $100,000 and was complete with masquerade performers and a New Orleans marching band.
"Happy Birthday Tina!! Beautiful night @beyonce @iamjhud #magical," Jenner captioned an Instagram photo.
"Happy birthday mama Tina! Such a Beautiful woman!! N a blessing to us all!!" Hudson captioned one of her pictures.
Recently, the "Flawless" singer and Jay Z celebrated their daughter Blue Ivy's 2nd birthday by reportedly renting out jungle. Sources told TMZ, that the hip-hop couple closed down Jungle Island, inside in a Miami park for the special day.
There were also rumors that Blue got a horse, worth $75,000, as a birthday gift.
"Blue loves animals and expressed interest in having a horse... so they bought her one," a source told MediaTakeOut.com.
