Kanye West is reportedly upset with Beyoncé over the success of her visual album "Beyonce." West is best friends with Beyoncé's husband Jay Z, so shouldn't he be happy for the "XO" singer? A source told Radar Online that West is annoyed because he had the idea to release a digital album first.
According to the source, West wanted to drop a visual album for "Dark Twisted Fantasies" but the idea was shot down. The source also claims that West feels Beyoncé "stole his idea."
"Kanye is feeling really defeated over Beyoncé's album doing so well," the source said.
"He wanted to do a visual album for his 'Dark Twisted Fantasies' album, but everyone around him convinced him it wouldn't work," the source continued. "That's why he ended up doing one long movie to go with it [the 35-minute short film, 'Runaway']."
So far, the 32-year-old singer has sold almost 1.5 million copies of the album. Even though the "Yeezus" rapper is mad at Beyoncé's success, he doesn't want to talk about it because "of how he got slammed for saying he invented leather jogging pants. Plus he needs to stay on good terms with Jay Z."
"He's super-focused on moving forward," he said. "He's working so hard to come up with something that will eclipse Beyoncé and put him back on top."
Radar's source also claims his fiancé Kim Kardashian is standing by her man and has been urging West to do something big. Reportedly that something big could be a "huge free concert or a free album."
This isn't the first time it's been rumored that there is some tension between the two couples. According to a recent report by Star magazine, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star was upset when Bey reportedly "refused" to be a bridesmaid in her wedding.
Also, Kardashian and West were noticeably absent from Tina Knowles' birthday party over the weekend. Beyoncé and her sister Solange Knowles threw their mother a masquerade party for her 60th birthday. Tons of celebrities guests attended included Kris Jenner. Sources said she was the only member of the Kardashian clan at the party.
