iMac 2017 is the most anticipated device from Apple other than iPad line-up. iMac PC had been the expected device from Apple in the October event. Enthusiasts did not find any single word on this device. However, current reports are indicating the arrival of iMac 2017 in the next Apple event.
According to International Business Times, iMac 2017 is rumored to arrive in the next Apple event. However, the main focus is on the processor that will be embedded inside the iMac PC. Earlier, reports highlighted the delay in the launch of Intel's Kaby Lake processor is the reason for the delay of new iMac.
It is reported that Intel could be unveiling its latest high-advanced Kaby Lake processors at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017 in Las Vegas. As the upcoming AIO is expected to come with interesting features, a Kaby Lake chipset can only make them better. The Kaby Lake chipset is required to run all high-end features successfully.
There are also new reports on iMac 2017, in which the device is expected to feature the same Skylake SoC or the Intel's Xeon processor. If the Intel Kaby Lake chipset supply delays, it may force the Cupertino-based tech giant to go with Skylake or Xeon processor. The MacBook Pro 2016 was also released with the same Skylake SoC in the last event. Apple's official statement on iMac 2017 will give the complete details on the confusion of processor which will power the new PC.
A major challenge to Apple Inc. is the Microsoft Surface Studio with the 28-inch screen having fold down ability in-order to make it easier for artists to draw on it. Plus, the Surface makes use of touch input, a stylus and the Dial. Apple needs to make a device far better than the current best device.
According to The Bit Bag, the top most features likely be found in iMac 2017 are a 4-core processor, 5K Display and native support for 4K video with virtual reality (VR) support. A newly introduced organic light-emitting diode (OLED) Touch Bar seen in the MacBook Pro 2016 is also expected. Other specs likely to be available are USB Type-C Thunderbolt 3 ports, Touch ID and Touch Bar.
