'Star Wars' News: George Lucas Unveils 'Sandcrawler' HQ In Singapore With Darth Vader's Help (PHOTOS)

George Lucas has unveiled Lucasfilm’s new Singapore Headquarters, the “Sandcrawler” building, named after the Jawas' vehicle on Tatooine in Star Wars IV, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

Lucas was escoted into the new HQ, which is about 242,190 square-feet, by a “phalanx of stormtroopers” followed by the Darth Vader.

“[The Sandcrawler] is a symbol of the people of Singapore and computer animation combining with Lucasfilm to create something that is (of) world quality", he said during the unveiling, THR reports.

"I'm very proud of what we've accomplished," he added. "We couldn't have found a better partner anywhere in the world."

Along with a new HQ, Disney and Lucasfilm are reportedly planning on revamping Disneyland’s Tomorrowland to fit the new “Star Wars Episode 7” characters and storylines.

MiceChat.com reports select Imagineers have be debriefed about the upcoming film, and will be designing the pack around the new plotline. Check out what MiceChat.com sources had to say below:

"The Imagineers assigned to the Star Wars Tomorrowland project have now been debriefed on the characters and plotlines coming for Star Wars Episode VII that opens in theaters in about two years.

"The original plan for Disneyland's Tomorrowland relied heavily on characters and plot points from the first three Star Wars films, with attractions like a Millenium Falcon walk-thru on the old PeopleMover platform, a wild Tatooine cantina replacing Tomorrowland Terrace, and a speeder bike ride through an Ewok village where Autopia currently sits.

"Those key attractions are all still part of phase two, but they are being layered or tweaked to include references from Episode VII that will be released in theaters at least 18 months before any of those attractions open."

Unfortunately a new Tomorrowland will not likely be unveiled until 2017. "Star Wars Episode 7" will be released to theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
