The 2017 Mobile World Congress had amazing launches from various tech giants. LG presented its most awaited flagship LG G6 at the event. Nokia, the Finnish company is also back with its new smartphones to take the mobile phone market back. Nokia also launched its flagship Nokia 6 at the event. A direct comparison between the two most awaited smartphones are made below-
Nokia 6 vs. LG G6
Design: The Nokia 6 measures 154mm x 75.8mm x 8.4 in dimensions. The handset sports a 5.5-inch full HD (403ppi) display giving bright and sharp screen. The phone has a screen resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is constructed with a single block of aluminum, which not only gives the premium feel but a sturdy and durable one too.
On the other hand, LG G6 measures to 148.9mm x 71.9mm x 7.9mm sporting 5.7inch larger display with minimum bezels at the side. The screen resolution is 1440x2880 pixels and 564ppi pixel density. LG boasts that the phone is the first to include Dolby Vision display technology (for, in Dolby's words, "astonishing brightness, contrast and color").Also, it is claimed by the company that the handset features a FullVision display. The phone is also built with aluminum.
Hardware: Under the hood, the Nokia 6 Smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset clocked at 8x1.4GHz. The processor is coupled with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. The handset comes with two storage options-32GB and 64GB internal storage. The internal can be further expanded via microSD card up to 256GB.
LG G6 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset (2x2.35GHz & 2x1.6GHz) paired together with 4GB RAM. This handset also comes with two storage option - 32GB and 64GB storage and an option of expanding the storage via microSD up to 256GB.
Software: Both the smartphones comes with Google's latest Android operating system-Android Nougat. But, Nokia 6 runs on Android Nougat with pure android experience, whereas LG G6 runs Android Nougat with LG UX 6.0 overlay - specifically designed for the G6, which takes advantage of the 2:1 screen to offer a half-and-half aesthetic that's ideal for multitasking.
Camera and Battery: Nokia 6 sports a 16MP camera at the rear with LED flash and an 8MP selfie camera. On the other hand, the LG G6 sports a dual-camera setup of 13-megapixel cameras on the rear, which is claimed to be a wide-angle camera with a 125-degree lens, for optimal panoramic shooting. The front face of the Smartphone has a 5-megapixel selfie shooter.
Nokia 6 is equipped with non-removable 3,000mAh battery and LG G6 with 3,300mAh non-removable battery with fast charging support as both the phone shave Android Nougat as it OS.
Price: At the time of launch, Nokia decided to attach a price tag of €229 for Nokia 6. As far as LG G6 is concerned, LG has not made any official statements yet on the pricing. Stay tuned for more updates.
