The Walking Dead Prank: Star Norman Reedus Gets Scared By Vine-Famous Zombie Prankster (VIDEO)

Anyone who has watched AMC's hit zombie apocalypse show "The Walking Dead" knows that one of the hardest characters on the show, and the man least likely to be frightened by a real-life zombie, is Daryl Dickson played by Norman Reedus. However, with the help of a makeup team, executive producers, co-star Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick Grimes in the series) and a professional zombie scare prankster, Reedus managed to let out a small scream.

"The Walking Dead" fan Nick Santonastasso made a name for himself on the popular mico-video sharing app Vine with his "zombie scare pranks." Santonastasso is a handicapped man with no legs and only one arm. While many would look at this condition as a disability, the super-fan merely looked at it as the perfect set dressing to pass him off as a convincing zombie. He began by pranking people in department stores, gaining some 534,000 followers of his videos, before Walking Dead's special effects guru, Greg Nicotero, gave him a chance to scare at the pro-level.

Lincoln and Nicotero helped fly Santonastasso to Tokyo and look like a walker from the show and hid him under a tarp on a room service table. Reedus was brought into the room to record an interview but was left there for a moment due to "technical difficulties." That's when Lincoln gave the final go-ahead to the prankster to come crawling out at full speed toward the most notorious zombie killer on TV.

While his television counter-part may have found the most creative and gruesome way to take down the would-be attacker, Reedus the actor simply let out a shocked yell before realizing he was the victim of a prank. Reedus knew of Santonastasso's videos and even endorsed him on social media. However, that didn't stop him from jumping at the site of a one-armed, no-legged zombie from crawling at him.

"Good job you jerk," Reedus said with a smile after hugging his "attacker."
