You're going to be in for a big disappointment if you were expecting the next "Uncharted" installment to be released this year.
Community strategist Eric Monacelli took to PlayStation's official blog to answer questions relating to a recent interview from "The Last Of US" team. One fan asked if "Uncharted 4" would be released in 2014, to which Monacelli responded, "Ha. Doubtful."
Naughty Dog officially announced "Uncharted 4" was in development back in November 2013 in a statement on PlayStation's blog:
"We have great news for all our Uncharted fans - Amy, Justin, and the team are hard at work on an amazing new installment of the Uncharted series to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4 system. Our goal is to continue what we've done in previous console generations and once again deliver the best in storytelling, performance capture, technical innovation and graphics on the PS4. We can confirm that the voiceover is performed by Todd Stashwick and he will play a character in the game."
However, there are no set release dates for a new "Uncharted" or "The Last of Us" games, but there is a new DLC being released for "The Last of Us." A prequel to Joel and Ellie's story will explain how Ellie came to survive the zombie infested world with the help of a friend.
"Set before Joel and Ellie meet in The Last of Us, Left Behind will focus strongly on Ellie and Riley, adding intriguing new wrinkles to Ellie's future relationship with Joel, as well as immersive details about the game's decaying world," PlayStation said in a blog post.
Ellie and Riley will explore a mall which has been taken over by all sorts of infected, which you can pin against each other to help you survive. A more playful side of Ellie will be shown, and players will get to see how her world quickly spun out of control in the DLC available on Feb. 14.
