‘The Walking Dead’ Season 4 Spoilers, NEW Trailer: Carl Grimes Takes Over as Leader in New Promo (VIDEO)

AMC has released another promo clip for Season 4 of "The Walking Dead." The new clip focuses on Carl and shows him leading two walkers away from a house and into the woods. In the comic books, after the attack on the prison Rick and Carl take shelter in an abandoned home.

It's not clear what Carl is doing with the walkers but we're guessing he simply wants them away from their safe spot. Fans of the TV show already know how dangerous it is to shoot zombies so maybe Carl has a few tricks up his sleeve for how to quietly get rid of them.

In other news, TV Guide was able to get an early screening of Episode 9, titled "After," and dropped two bombshells about Carl and The Governor.

"Don't expect to see too many familiar faces since Rick and Carl take center stage when the AMC drama returns. While Rick heals from his beating from The Governor - whom you will see again - Carl will lose something very important to him. (No, not his innocence!). In other news, it won't be long before this mystery is blown wide open."

"This mystery" refers to Michonne and her background. It's been revealed that her extremely sad and emotional past would be revealed soon and the scene with baby Judith was a small clue.

As far as Carl, TV Guide didn't reveal what Carl loses but based on the comics, it could be his eye. In Robert Kirkman's comic books, Carl is accidentally shot in the face. There's been other rumors claiming that he could lose his hat.

But back to The Governor. TV Guide didn't say how The Governor could return which means viewers could see him in flashbacks. There's some speculation that he might return as a walker. In Episode 8, viewers watched as Lilly pointed the gun at The Governor and pulled the trigger.

AMC never actually aired the fatal blow or revealed that The Governor had died as a result. Does that mean he survived the gunshot wound to the head? Did Lilly miss? Did she change her mind? In the comics, The Governor does die after being shot by Lilly but maybe AMC switched it up.

Last month, David Morrisey, who plays the villainous character, hinted about his character returning saying: "Something happened to him. I feel like a shady politician where I can't confirm and I can't deny anything. Certainly, bad things befell him at the end of that last episode but we just have to wait and see."
